Due to the challenges of MAPs, continuous capacity development and reflection is necessary for the successful implementation of this instrument.

Online training on Multi-Actor-Partnerships

Engagement Global offers a specific training programme for civil society-initiated MAPs funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) via Engagement Global/ bengo. It consists in a series of trainings and tailor made formats like mentoring, coaching and workshops.

Depending on demand, we offer the online trainings in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese.

This training provides a basic understanding of conditions, principles and requirements for the successful initiation of result-oriented Multi-Actor Partnerships (MAPs). It gives an orientation to understand the possibilities, forms and phases of a MAP development process with focus on the first phase. The participants analyse the necessary preconditions for MAPs including foundations, characteristics, success factors, communication, roles and challenges for MAP implementation and benefit from a learning exchange between civil society organisations and ideas for MAPs.

Target group:

Participants from different German NGO and their counterpart NGO in partner countries who have not yet implemented any MAP projects and new project staff that is not yet familiar with the MAP approach.

This training is critical for participants and organizations designing or re-thinking initiatives using a MAP approach. The participants gain an in-depth understanding of MAP phases one and two, and their respective development processes. They reflect on the engagement of different stakeholders, stakeholder and situation analysis, theory of change, governance and structures, values of collaboration and the institutionalization of MAP partnerships. The mutual exchange, previous experiences in the group and case studies supports planning and implementation competencies for result-orientation, implementation, consolidation and stabilization processes of MAP projects.

Target group:

Participants from different German NGO and their counterpart NGO in partner countries beginning to implement an MSP. Concrete cases/ examples from the practice provided by the participants are the basis of the training.

This training enables MAP facilitators, leaders, and those who are actively involved in the implementation of a MAP, to plan a second and/or last phase of a MAP including exit strategies. The participants reflect MAP issues from different perspectives and share successful approaches where available. The training is a self-reflective and immersive journey that builds leadership and collaboration habits, creates accountability among MAP actors, and introduces adaptive management.

Participants from different German CSO and NGO in partner countries (NGOs) already implementing a MAP project and planning the sustainable anchoring of the MAP.
